It was hot and sunny at Wimbledon, with temperatures and tension soaring well into the final matches. That didn’t stop spectators from attending the most prestige tennis Championship in the world. But who won this year? On the men’s side, a surprise loss from the much anticipated Novak Djokovic, brought everyone to a shock. Djokovic and Federer, the most talked about champions gave way to the new dad and winner of the grand slam title- Andy Murray. Shortly after beating Milos Raonic the crowd including Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton cheered with joy as Murray teared at his victorious win.
On the women’s side, Serena Williams continues to be the best player in the world with now 22 major tittles to her name and 7th Wimbledon grand slam title. She defeated Angelique Kerber in the women’s final winning in straight sets. Williams has cemented her legacy as one of the greatest athletes to ever live.
