MACLAREN INTRODUCES A NEW OBJECT OF DESIGN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE RODNIK BAND An exciting collaboration that will give you something to sink your teeth into

Maclaren joins forces with British artist and fashion designer, Philip Colbert to bring you the first of its kind, the Maclaren x Rodnik Band Shark Buggy available online and at select retailers now.

The Shark Buggy joins Maclaren’s highly sought after Objects of Design collection amongst the ranks of premium brand partners which have included BMW, Orla Kiely, Burberry, Philippe Starck, Lacoste, Lulu Guinness and Juicy Couture, to name a few. “We first met Philip Colbert in England during Travels to My Elephant, an extraordinary charity campaign we worked on with Elephant Family,” says Carolyn Komminsk, Creative Director at Maclaren. “Colbert hosted a reading to a group of London’s school children and was so engaging and imaginative in his manner, I knew he would create a unique and playful design that would charm both parents and kids alike.  When he arrived to the event in his Fried Egg designed Tuk Tuk, we were smitten.”

Inspired by the pop-art movement, this special edition buggy sits on the popular Mark II hexagon frame now with a reclining seat and includes a 3D shark tooth decorated raincover, jockey pad and buggy ID tag. The Shark Buggy is the lightest full-featured reclining buggy on the market with a basic weight of 3.5kg / 7.7lb – giving you something to sink your teeth into! “For me kids inspire good energy and fun, as a parent I wanted to create a stroller that captured the bold humorous energy that I find explosively powerful in kids and in art, I am very excited to launch the Shark stroller and believe both adults and kids will be inspired by how much fun they can have with it.”

To compliment the Shark Buggy, Maclaren is also releasing two seat liners inspired by The Rodnik Band, the Shark Seat Liner and Colbert’s infamous Fried Egg-print Seat Liner later this season.
