Elephant Family Rickshaw Race India

In November 2015, a large group of adventurers and philanthropists travelled over 500km across Madhya Pradesh, India to a very special elephant,  Mark Shand’s beloved elephant Tara who lives near Kanha National Park. A partnership between Elephant Family and Quintessentially Foundation, Travels to my Elephant aims to raise over a £1million to save the Asian elephants from extinction. Many teams journeyed through the roads of rural India, racing past ancient sculptures, Maharajas’ palaces, full of lively towns and beautiful scenery to Kipling Camp, where Tara the star of Mark Shand’s bestselling book and Travels to my Elephant – now lives. This was the closure to a fantastic journey that began with the readings of Mark Shand’s Travels On My Elephant at Duke of York Square, the Tuk-Tuk Auction at Lancaster House, the Ella_Phant competition that would give  young  emerging artist Victor Gose the opportunity to attend the Sotheby’s NYC Elephants Forever Auction,  and Rickshaw Race at Kipling Camp, and we are proud to  have hosted a number of events around the world to continue raising awareness for the cause. This was the end of a long journey, but the beginning of a new one. Watch all the coverage from Ella’s trip to India! https://youtu.be/WuuNLg3uf2I
